I believe I've read this somewhere in the forums but couldn't find the post. I came upon something odd. A Saphire droped from a mob. It's labled as a rare crafting materal and worth 250 gold. Anyone found anything linked to these? Collectors in fissure or UW?

i think it's used for high level armor crafting? That's what i heard.

Hmmm, Could be but I've heard no reports of this being used for fissure armor or anythig else likewise. I belive its just shards and ecos.

people like to draw so many connections between D2 and this... lol, maybe you can double click it and put it into a weapon to give poison dmg

Lol, ya but you messed up, Saphire gives you cold damage, an Emerald will give you poison

Didn't the elementist Crowns use rubies and sapphires in the beta??? I don't have one so I don't remember... But I think you can add them to elementists head gear for added abilities. just like the runes...
